The University of Central Missouri’s B.S. in Cybersecurity with a Cyber Operations concentration delivers a high-value, ABET-accredited education focused on real-world system defense. Designated as an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense since 2022, the program integrates technical expertise with theoretical foundations in areas such as cryptography, network forensics, threat intelligence and incident response, ethical hacking, cyber-physical systems security, and usable privacy and security, preparing you to design, deploy, and monitor enterprise-level IT systems.

Established in 2015 and home to SANS GIAC-certified faculty, UCM combines small, student-centric classes with the latest facilities—including the Cyber Central virtual lab—for immersive learning and research. Students also benefit from industry tours, internships, and active student orgs (National Cybersecurity Student Association, ACM, CyberMules team) with strong participation in regional and national cyber competitions.

Graduates enter rapidly growing cybersecurity roles, often earning competitive salaries as cyber operations specialists. Alumni work for employers such as Oracle Health, SAIC, Honeywell, Garmin, Commerce Bank, and the Federal Reserve Bank. UCM also offers an accelerated BS/MS option for high-performing students.
